Crane Rope

Crane rope refers to specialized wire rope designed for overhead crane, hoist, and boom service. Typical constructions include 6×19 IWRC (independent wire rope core) or 6×36 compacted strand configurations, selected for their balance of abrasion resistance, flexibility, fatigue life, and crush resistance on drums or sheaves. Rotation-resistant or compacted ropes are commonly used in hoist lines to maintain twisting stability under heavy duty cycling. Selection depends on variables like load capacity, reeving configuration, environmental exposure, and drum diameter-to-rope ratio.
