Swage sockets (also known as pressed or crimped sockets) are precision-engineered end fittings for terminating wire rope assemblies. Installed using special dies and hydraulic or mechanical swaging tools, these sockets compress over the rope to form a permanent, seamless connection. When applied properly, swage sockets retain up to 100% of the rope’s catalog breaking strength—minimizing fatigue at the termination point and improving long-term reliability. Available in open (with pin and cotter option) and closed configurations, these sockets are commonly forged from carbon or stainless steel and are recommended for 6×19 or 6×37 IWRC, EEIP, or galvanized bridge rope applicatio
